CALL
The Call for Contributors 4 AquaGranda is open again!
Take part in the second edition of this participatory initiative and immerse yourself in the thoughts and memories related to the high water and tides you have experienced in Venice or its lagoon.
Choose the expressive form that best reflects you, and share with us your most intimate and sincere memories and feelings, contributing to the collective narrative of the relationship between the inhabitants of the lagoon and the tides within the AquaGranda citizen-science framework.
The Venice lagoon is a unique ecosystem that, for many, represents a fundamental part of their life, identity, and history. Whether you were born in Venice and later left, or only experienced it briefly as a student or worker, the lagoon captures you with its inspiring force.
Here, water is not just a constant presence in the landscape; it is an integral part of daily life, its flows intertwined with our experiences and emotions, both individual and collective.
WHAT
We invite you to share your creative expressions through a short text (maximum length of 2,500 characters, including spaces) in a form of your choice. The texts can be in various genres, ranging from narrative to poetic, dialogic, or epistolary, as well as dedications, songs, nursery rhymes, or even prophecies.
Textual Contributions (maximum length of 2500 characters including spaces)
THEME
We aim to delve into the memory of a climatic phenomenon like high water, exploring it in all its manifestations, whether mild or violent. Through creative expression in textual form, we seek to examine the relationship between humans and the tide, between land and water, and among the people who share the same aquatic environment.
OBJECTIVES
- Collect memories, experiences, and sensations from those who have lived in the Venice lagoon and experienced high water.
- Examine and storytell the relationship between humans and the tide.
- Explore the theme of water culture in the lagoon.
FOR WHOM?
Anyone can participate; the only requirement is having a memory to share. Long-term residents, temporary residents, students, former students, tourists:
Age doesn’t matter! Everyone is welcome.
